I AM "That Girl": The Leader Who Elevates and Inspires

Recently, during an interview, I was introduced as “that girl.” I didn’t refute the claim in the moment. Instead, I embraced it and moved through the conversation with grace and confidence. But later, as I often do when others try to place labels on me without my permission, I spent time reflecting.

Am I that girl?

After much contemplation, I came to a powerful realization: I am that girl. I own the crown she placed on me that day. The truth is, being "that girl" isn't just a title someone gives you—it's a mindset, a way of showing up in the world that resonates deeply with who you are and the impact you create.

Let’s talk about what it really means to be “that girl.” Not just any girl, but the one who inspires others to step into their greatness—the one who challenges herself daily to grow and makes space for others to rise with her. That girl is more than a trend—she's the embodiment of leadership, resilience, and purpose.

And here’s the thing: you are "that girl".

I’ve always had a passion for helping people discover the best version of themselves, especially as leaders. I have a knack for pulling greatness out of others because, quite frankly, I own the fact that I am that girl.

My personal commitment is simple: people, situations, and environments will be better after I leave them than they were before encountering me.

I believe in the power of transformation, and I know we all have the potential to be "that girl"—the person who leaves a lasting impact, whose influence ripples long after she’s gone.

Being "that girl" means you aren’t just elevating yourself; you’re lifting everyone around you. You inspire others to show up as the most powerful version of themselves—sometimes in ways that might remind you of yourself. But here’s the beauty: it’s not about them becoming you; it’s about them owning their unique power, applying what they’ve learned from you, and making it their own.

Are You "That Girl"---let's check the receipts, sis!

4 Ways to Know You’re “That Girl”

1. People Around You Are Evolving When you’re truly embodying that girl energy, you’ll notice that the people around you are stepping into their own power. You might see them taking bolder actions, speaking up with more confidence, or navigating challenges with poise and clarity. It’s not because they’re imitating you—it’s because they’ve seen you do it, and now they’re putting their own spin on it. That girl doesn’t create clones; she creates a ripple effect of growth.

2. They Seek Your Advice, But Execute Their Own Vision Being that girl means people will naturally gravitate toward you for guidance. But the magic happens when you see them take what they’ve learned and apply it in their own way. They’re not following in your footsteps exactly; they’re creating their own path, using the tools and insights you’ve shared.

3. You Feel the Energy Shift There’s an unspoken energy that comes with being that girl. You feel it when you walk into a room, and so do others. It’s not about commanding attention for attention’s sake—it’s about being so aligned with your purpose that people can’t help but be drawn to your presence. You radiate confidence, grace, and authenticity, and in turn, others are inspired to bring their full selves to every space they enter.

4. You Witness Their Wins and Celebrate Alongside Them One of the surest signs you’re that girl is when you see those around you thriving—and you feel nothing but pride and joy for their success. You know you’ve played a role, whether big or small, in their journey, and it fuels you to keep growing too. Their wins are a reflection of the space you’ve created for them to step into their own greatness. And what’s even better? They’re celebrating your wins just as hard.

What Does It Look Like When Women Around Me Are Their Most POWERful Selves?

It looks familiar because I have been there—I’ve set the example, given the encouragement, or shared the knowledge.

But when women execute on the tips, tactics, and examples I’ve set, they take it to new heights.

I get so much joy from this that I have created a sacred space for this kind of transformation.

This is what I see:

  • They’re Poised and Purposeful: I notice them making bold decisions and pursuing their goals with clear intention. They’ve embraced their purpose and move with focus and determination, much like I’ve modeled.

  • They’re Observant and Open-Minded: They’ve learned to listen deeply, consider different perspectives, and remain adaptable. This open-mindedness is something they’ve seen me embody—and now they’re practicing it in their own lives, making them better leaders, colleagues, and friends.

  • They’re Bringing Their Whole Selves: Just like me, they’re no longer compartmentalizing who they are. They’re showing up fully—wise, authentic, and unapologetically themselves. I see them take up space in ways that once seemed out of reach but now feel entirely natural for them.

  • They Lead with Empathy: They’ve watched me lead with my heart, and now they’re doing the same. They’re creating environments of understanding, where people feel seen and valued, because they know that real leadership is rooted in empathy and connection.

  • They’re Resourceful and Resilient: When challenges arise, they don’t shy away. Instead, they tap into their networks, their knowledge, and their inner strength to find solutions. I’ve shown them that there’s always a way forward, and now they believe it too.

Whether you are a member of the POWER Tribe, supporter or casual observer, we are all capable of being “that girl.” We must lead with purpose, wisdom, authenticity, and empathy. We elevate ourselves, but more importantly, we elevate those around us.

I’m proud of the impact I’ve had on the lives of so many. It’s humbling to know that when I leave a room or close a chapter, things are better because I was there.

And I want you to feel that same sense of pride. So today, I’m calling on you to be that powerful force. Be that girl. Keep inspiring, keep growing, and keep creating space for others to rise. Because when one of us steps into our greatness, we all do.

Listen, we are all capable of being “that girl,” regardless of gender identity. "That girl" is a mindset, a way of showing up as your most powerful and authentic self. It's about embodying leadership, empathy, and resilience. Whether you identify as female, male, non-binary, or anywhere on the gender spectrum, you have the potential to step into this energy and inspire those around you. Because at the end of the day, being “that girl” is about being the kind of leader who uplifts others, creates space for growth, and leads with purpose and heart.
